Simply connect the USB 3.1 cable to any computer, enter a 7-15 digit PIN code and once the correct PIN is entered all data on the drive will be decrypted and accessible. To lock the drive and encrypt all data, simply disconnect the iStorage diskAshur2 from the host computer. The entire contents of the drive will now be encrypted (full disk encryption) using military grade AES 256-bit hardware encryption (XTS mode). If the drive is lost or stolen and the wrong PIN is entered 15 times in succession the drive will be reset. The encryption key will be deleted and all data previously stored on the drive will be lost forever.
One of the unique and underlying security features of the GDPR compliant iStorage diskAshur2 is its dedicated hardware protected microprocessor, which is Common Creteria EAL4+ ready. The microprocessor uses built-in physical protection mechanisms designed to defend against external tampering, bypass attacks and fault injections. Unlike other solutions, the iStorage diskAshur2 responds to an automated attack by entering a locked freeze state, rendering all such attacks futile. In plain and simple terms, without a PIN code, there is no access possible!

Without installing any drivers or software, the diskAshur2 is truly platform/device independent and works with all operating systems including all versions of MS Windows, MacOS, Linux, Android, Chrome, Thin Clients, Zero Clients and embedded systems. In fact, it works on any device with a USB port!
