Precision engineered to provide enhanced portability and security, the diskAshur3 includes all the essential features of other iStorage products, such as PIN protection and hardware encryption, along with a host of innovative technological enhancements.
Using the device is effortlessly easy: simply plug it into the host’s USB port (USB Type-A and Type-C cables included) and enter the user-configured 8-64 digit PIN. Upon entering the correct PIN, all data stored on the drive will be decrypted and accessible. To lock the drive, simply remove it from the host and all data will be encrypted.
Available in capacities up to 16TB, the TAA-compliant drive redefines the standard for securing data with ease and confidence.
Enhanced encryption and physical security
The diskAshur3 provides real-time Full Disk data protection by implementing a military FIPS PUB 197 validated AES-XTS 256-bit hardware encryption algorithm. This comprehensive approach provides strong protection against unauthorized access.
The diskAshur3 is designed to provide intrusion-resistant security. Access to the components requires physically breaking the casing, clearly indicating any tampering attempt. In addition, all internal components are protected with a layer of durable epoxy resin, further enhancing protection against physical attacks.
Advanced firmware protection
The firmware of the iStorage diskAshur3 is FIPS 140-3 Level 3 compliant. In addition, the drive features a secure microprocessor certified to Common Criteria EAL5+, along with a unique flash-lock mechanism, which protects against potential firmware attacks on the microprocessor.
It also provides robust protection against BadUSB attacks via an innovative secure USB controller firmware protection mechanism. This ensures the authentication of the USB controller firmware before any unlock attempt, further strengthening the security measures.

In addition, every part of the drive is encased in a layer of extremely durable epoxy resin, making it virtually impossible to remove without causing irreparable damage to the components.
Protection against brute force attacks
The diskAshur3 offers protection against brute force attacks. If the user PIN is entered incorrectly 10 times in a row, it will be deleted. The data will remain on the device, but can only be accessed with the administrator PIN. If the administrator PIN is entered incorrectly 10 times in a row, all data will be lost permanently. The device must be reconfigured before it can be used again.
Admin, user, and recovery PINs have separate brute force counters.
Independent User, Admin and One Time Recovery PINs
The diskAshur3 can be configured with three independent PINs: User, Administrator, and One-Time Recovery PINs, providing flexibility without compromising security.
No preset PIN
The diskAshur3 is shipped without a preset administrator PIN. An 8-64 digit administrator PIN must be configured before the drive can be used.
Self-destruct PIN
When entered, the encrypted encryption key and all PINs will be deleted, and all data will be lost forever.
Startup function
Install any operating system on the diskAshur3 and boot directly from it.
Automatic locking when away
Can be set to automatically lock when the device is inactive for a predetermined time.
Read Only (Write Protect) - Dual Mode
Restricts write access to the disk, making it impossible to modify the stored data.
